Consumer Returns & Refunds
This policy applies to consumer customers buying products for personal or household use on airthings.com. It does not apply to business customers, distributors, or purchases made outside airthings.com.
If you're not satisfied with your product, or you believe it has a defect, we want to help. Below is what's covered, what isn't, and how to start a return or warranty claim.

Refunds & shipping
How refunds and return shipping work
- Refund timing
- Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days after we receive and inspect the returned product.
- Defective items
- Airthings covers return shipping. We will email you a prepaid return label after your claim is approved.
- Change of mind
- For unopened items returned within 45 days, the customer is responsible for return shipping. Original shipping charges are not refunded.
- Opened, non-defective
- Opened products that are not defective are not eligible for refund. If you're unsure about a reading or setup issue, contact support@airthings.com first — most issues are resolved without a return.
Warranty coverage
What's covered, what isn't
Covered
- Defects in design, materials, or workmanship under normal use within the 12-month warranty period.
- Products that do not substantially conform to Airthings' published specifications at the time of delivery.
- Products purchased directly from airthings.com with valid proof of purchase.
Not covered
- Lost or stolen products.
- Accidental damage, including drops, extreme temperatures, high humidity, or water exposure.
- Damage from misuse, improper installation, unauthorized repair, or use with a non-compliant third-party USB power adapter.
- Normal wear and tear, or connectivity issues caused by changes to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth standards on your network.
- Products from unauthorized sellers, sold second-hand, used commercially, or used in regions where the product is not certified for sale.
- Original shipping charges, or charges resulting from an incorrect shipping address provided at checkout.

How to start a return or warranty claim

Gather your proof of purchase
Have your airthings.com order number, sales receipt, or invoice ready, along with a photo of the device and its serial number (printed on the back of the unit).

Contact support
Notify us as soon as possible after discovering the issue. Email support@airthings.com, or use the chat on airthings.com or in the Airthings app to start your claim.

Send it back
Once approved, we'll email you instructions and a return label where applicable. For defects, Airthings covers shipping. For change-of-mind returns, the customer covers shipping.

Refund or replacement
After we receive and inspect the product, we will repair, replace, or refund within 5–10 business days. Refunds go to your original payment method.
Legal
Limitation of liability
Select your region for the terms that apply to your purchase.
There are no warranties beyond those stated in this policy. Any implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to this warranty period. Some states or provinces do not allow limitations on implied warranty duration, so this may not apply to you.
Under no circumstances shall Airthings be liable for special, incidental, or consequential damages arising from breach of warranty, breach of contract, or strict liability. Some states or provinces do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so this may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state or province.
