This policy covers consumer purchases on airthings.com for personal or household use. It doesn't apply to business customers, distributors, or anything bought outside airthings.com.

There are 2 separate rights on this page: your 14-day statutory right of withdrawal under EU law, and our 45-day commercial return window. They work differently. Read both.

EU law — applies to EU/EEA customers

Your 14-day right of withdrawal

If you live in the EU or EEA, you can withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods. No reason required. This right comes from EU law (Directive 2011/83/EU) and our commercial policy can't override it.

How to exercise this right

Email support@airthings.com with your order number and a clear statement that you want to withdraw — for example: “I give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the purchase of [product name], ordered on [date].”

Our support team will acknowledge your withdrawal and guide you through the next steps.

When it starts
The 14 days start the day you (or someone you designated, not the carrier) physically receive the goods. If your order shipped in multiple deliveries, the clock starts from the last one.
What you get back
The full purchase price plus standard delivery costs. If you chose a premium delivery option, we won't refund the difference above our standard rate. Refunds go to your original payment method within 14 days of us receiving the goods back, or proof you sent them — whichever comes first.
Return shipping
A flat €10 (or local currency equivalent) return fee applies, deducted from your refund. You have 14 days from notifying us to send the goods back. Email support first to get return instructions before you ship anything.
Condition of the goods
You can handle the product enough to check what it is and how it works — think of it like inspecting something in a shop. If you go beyond that and the product loses value, we can deduct that amount from your refund. Keep the original packaging and don't use the device beyond basic inspection during the 14-day window.

Our policy — all customers

45-day commercial return window

On top of your statutory rights, we give you 45 days from delivery to return a product. This is our own policy — it doesn't replace any legal rights you have.

Eligibility
The product must be unopened, in its original packaging, and in like-new condition. We won't accept opened or used products under this policy. Got a defective product? See the warranty section below.
Refund timing
Once we receive and inspect the return, refunds go back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
Return shipping
A flat-rate return fee of €10 (or local currency equivalent) applies, deducted from your refund. Original shipping charges aren't refunded.
Opened products
Opened or used products aren't eligible for a refund under this policy. If you're having a problem with a reading or setup, email support@airthings.com first — most issues get sorted without a return.

Warranty coverage

What's covered, what isn't

Covered

  • Defects in design, materials, or workmanship under normal use within the 12-month warranty period.
  • Products that don't substantially conform to Airthings' published specifications at the time of delivery.
  • Products bought directly from airthings.com with valid proof of purchase.

Not covered

  • Lost or stolen products.
  • Accidental damage — drops, extreme temperatures, humidity, water.
  • Damage from misuse, improper installation, unauthorized repair, or a non-compliant USB power adapter.
  • Normal wear and tear, or connectivity issues from Wi-Fi or Bluetooth standard changes.
  • Products from unauthorized sellers, sold second-hand, used commercially, or used in uncertified regions.
  • Original shipping charges, or charges from an incorrect address at checkout.

Separate path — all customers

Got a defective product?

A defective product is a different situation from a change-of-mind return or a statutory withdrawal. The rules are different, and the path is different. Don't use the commercial return window for a device that's actually broken.

What counts as defective
A product is defective if it has a fault in design, materials, or workmanship, or if it doesn't conform to Airthings' published specifications at the time of delivery. This covers things like a sensor that reads incorrectly from day one, a button that doesn't work, or a unit that won't power on.
When to use this path
Any time within the 12-month warranty period (or 5 years if you registered). You don't need to be within the 14-day withdrawal window or the 45-day return window. The warranty is a separate right.
What we'll do
At our option, we'll repair, replace, or refund the product. We'll also cover return shipping — you don't pay to send back a defective unit.
How to start
Email support@airthings.com with your order number, a description of the fault, and a photo of the device and serial number. We'll take it from there.

How to start a claim or return

    Get your proof of purchase ready

    You'll need your airthings.com order number, sales receipt, or invoice. Also grab a photo of the device and its serial number — printed on the back of the unit.

    Contact support

    Email support@airthings.com or use the chat on airthings.com or in the app. Do it as soon as you notice the issue.

    Send it back

    Once approved, we'll email you return instructions. Warranty defects: Airthings covers return shipping. Statutory withdrawal (14-day) and commercial return (45-day, unopened items): a flat €10 (or local currency equivalent) return fee is deducted from your refund.

    Refund or replacement

    Once we receive and inspect the product, we'll repair, replace, or refund within 5–10 business days. Refunds go to your original payment method.

Legal

Limitation of liability

Select your region for the terms that apply.

There are no warranties beyond those stated in this policy. Any implied warranties, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the duration of this warranty period. Some states or provinces don't allow limitations on implied warranty duration, so the above may not apply to you.

Airthings won't be liable for special, incidental, or consequential damages from breach of warranty, breach of contract, or strict liability. Some states or provinces don't allow exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state or province.
