July 1, 2021

The Airthings internship program is a big part of our company culture. We have grown tremendously from our humble roots in 2008, offering the first battery-powered radon detector. Today, we offer an extensive range of radon and indoor air quality monitors to suit everyone's needs. As a result, we wanted to make sure that we stay true to our core beliefs and values, promoting a healthy, fun and positive working environment. Our interns get to work on exciting projects- no grunt work!

As our company continues to grow, so does our internship program. This year we have eighteen great new interns, bringing fresh ideas and new perspectives to different departments across Airthings. We have been running the internship program for several years now. Look here to see how our internship program has grown from 2018, 2019, and 2020

This socially-distanced year, the projects range from using data to look for anomalies to better inform customers about their air quality. All the way to reporting on the impacts air quality has for chess champions. Keep reading to meet the Airthings interns of 2021.

Helping home improvements

Upgrading and improving areas of homes is common practice. Many reviewers explain that their detectors have helped them in small projects from fixing holes in basements to DIY mitigation. The reviewer entitled Minnesota Reader explains: “This unit is enabling me to fine-tune my crawl space encapsulation project. It delivers radon measurements about every two hours, Which is frequently enough to give me immediate feedback on the success of my efforts. I am learning what works, and what doesn't, in real time. Invaluable. Really. I wish I had bought this to begin with, rather than putting up with the frustration of trying to use an inferior tool”.
