You may be thinking, how does air quality, children and chess come together? What do they have to do with one another? It’s actually pretty simple.

20 of the world’s best young male and female chess players will compete on chess24 from June 10-13 2021 in the Gelfand Challenge, presented by Air for Kids, the second event on the $100,000 Julius Baer Challengers Chess Tour. 15 year old Indian prodigy Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa secured the first online title in the Julius Baer Challengers Chess Tour and is considered the one to watch.

Air for kids, an online learning platform to teach children about the air we breathe,  has a goal. To educate one million children about air quality by 2026 and will therefore present the Gelfand Chess Challenge to help spread the word. Healthy air quality is vital for growing lungs, and the young, professional line-up will need the best conditions to focus on the game. Breathing in high levels of CO2, humidity, particulate matter (PM) or playing in an uncomfortably warm room could upset their concentration and, at this impeccably high level, could impact their chance of winning.

How can Air for Kids help me teach my child or pupils about the air?

Air for Kids is an unbranded education portal powered by Airthings. Created with educators in mind. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, thousands of parents, caregivers and loved ones have been forced to oversee their child's education during lockdowns and school closures. On top of this, school teachers, lecturers, and educators more generally, have been forced to adapt to a new way of working, teaching and engaging their students often online.

At Airforkids.com you will find tailored content and resources to help you do what you do best, educate. Gift-wrapped in a fun and most importantly manageable and straightforward way, learning about the air outside and inside has never been simpler.
