Geir Førre Continues as a Board Member and Qualifies the Move as Strategic

Oslo, Norway (21 April 2021)Airthings, the global leader in indoor air quality solutions for consumers, businesses, and professionals, today announced that its Board of Directors proposes the election of board member, business leader, and former World Cup alpine ski champion Aksel Lund Svindal for the role of Chairman of the Board at Airthings. If elected, Aksel Lund Svindal will replace Geir Førre, who will continue as a board member.

Experienced in building performance culture after competing at the highest level in sports for 15 years, Svindal has been a seed investor for five years and part of Airthings’ Board of Directors for more than two.

“I’m truly excited about the nomination. I have believed in Airthings’ mission since the start and being part of the company’s growth journey has been incredible,” said Svindal. “I’m really motivated to take things to the next level, and if elected, I’d be honored to accept the role and continue to fuel Airthings’ growth ambitions.”

Winning Team

For Geir Førre, Managing Partner in Firda, Airthings’ largest shareholder, the move is both strategic and well-timed. “As the Chairman of Airthings since 2015, I’ve seen the company grow massively, rounding it off with the listing on the Oslo Stock Exchange, Euronext Growth in October 2020. But this is just the beginning — I am in this for the long haul and will continue as a board member and investor for years to come. Having worked with Aksel for the past years, I’m confident that with both his eye for business and commitment to Airthings, he’s very well suited to support the company’s growth in the years to come.”

Førre, who is also the current Chair at several companies, including Disruptive Technologies and Zivid, will continue as an active member of the Board of Directors at Airthings working closely with both Svindal and Airthings’ CEO Øyvind Birkenes. “After working for many years with both Geir and Aksel, I can state with certainty that we are a strong, winning team,” said Birkenes. “We have ambitious goals for Airthings and together we’ll continue to drive success for the company.”

The new Chair of the Board will be announced in Airthings' Annual General Meeting to be held on May 5, 2021. For more information visit www.airthings.com/investors.
