Airthings, makers of the best-selling indoor air quality and radon monitors for consumers, businesses, and professionals today announced that it has been named a CES 2021 Innovation Awards Honoree for two of its products: Wave Plus for Business with Virus Risk Indicator and Wave Mini with Mold Risk Indicator. The announcement was made ahead of the first-ever, all-digital CES 2021, the world’s most influential technology event, happening Jan. 11-14, 2021.

Airthings’ Virus Risk Indicator is a new capability in the Airthings for Business solution. Designed to create an indoor environment where people thrive, but viruses don’t, Airthings’ Virus Risk Indicator helps people understand their indoor air quality and how it contributes to spreading airborne viruses, while providing personalized insights that will allow them to minimize the risk.

“The global pandemic has driven an unprecedented increase in awareness around indoor air quality,” says Oyvind Birkenes. “It’s more important than ever to make sure the air in schools, offices and in our homes is healthy and with new features such as the Virus Risk Indicator and the Mold Risk Indicator, we go one step further in empowering our customers to take control of the air they breathe, making it easier to take action when it’s needed.”

Earlier this year, Airthings launched the Mold Risk Indicator for its Wave Mini, a proprietary, Airthings-made algorithm that uses existing sensors and historical data to provide the likelihood of mold growth in an indoor location. With 21 percent of current asthma cases in the US attributable to dampness and mold exposure, protecting yourself and your loved ones from dangerous mold damage has never been simpler or more affordable than with Wave Mini.
